Chobe Game Lodge is one of Africa’s historic lodges – we have been around a long time and, over the decades, have finessed into what you find today - a place where guests feel at ease and at-one with their incredible surroundings. Add to this our five-star amenities and a traditional Chobe Game Lodge welcome and you have the perfect safari. Rooms overlook the river, decks overlook the Chobe National Park and candles light up the many terraces and bar areas where you can find your own space.

The accommodation at Chobe Game Lodge is comprised of 42 twin/double rooms, four luxury private suites and one family unit. Rooms are all river-facing, with spacious decks and air-conditioning, as well as a complimentary mini-bar.

There are seven inter-leading rooms, ideal for friends and families travelling together. There are no televisions in any of the rooms! We are in the bush, so enjoy the tranquillity, the birds and the wildlife.

Our stylish and comfortable standard rooms are located on the ground and the first floor and all are river facing. They have large terraces, sun loungers and complimentary mini-bars.

There are three safari activities on offer every day. Stays at Chobe Game Lodge are fully inclusive, so you are welcome to do as little or as much as you please. Our morning safari starts with a cup of tea or coffee and a freshly baked muffin on the veranda with the mist rising over the river in the background. Birdcalls echo around the gardens to herald the dawn.

Because Chobe Game Lodge is situated within the Chobe National Park we set off just as the gates to the park open, which means we are out and about before any other visitors to the park. We drive along the river looking out for fresh tracks – there is always evidence of predator activity in the early mornings and our experienced guides are able to interpret the bush signs and track the animals that left them. The thrill of finding spoor and tracking game must be experienced to be appreciated and being the first observers at a special sighting is very exciting.

Elephant encounters are common and huge herds of buffalo abound. The ever-present impala and the majestic giraffe are everywhere. The peace and tranquillity of game viewing in the early morning is a perfect way to start the day. On return from the game drive and after a hearty breakfast, you can watch the animals begin to come down to the river, or spot wildlife across the floodplains on a mid-morning safari boat cruise. After lunch and a rest there is a choice of afternoon game drives or sunset safari cruises. Game viewing reaches its peak as the heat of the afternoon draws the elephant and other wildlife to the river. Don’t miss the safari cruise for the most spectacular sunsets on earth!

Safari boat cruise : A very special activity while staying at Chobe Game Lodge is the safari boat cruise. The boats take a maximum of 12 guests and are equipped with deck chairs and a table for drinks and snacks. Unlike any other water-based activity in Botswana, the game viewing while cruising the Chobe River is epic. Elephants line the water’s edge, hippos congregate in lagoons, hundreds of antelope and giraffe make their way to the water and sightings of predators along the river are common.

A Chobe safari cruise is perfect for photography. The boat is a stable platform – a mobile hide that allows the observer to get close to the animals without disturbing them, which has enabled wildlife photographers from around the world to capture thousands of breathtaking images.

4X4 Game drives: Because Chobe Game Lodge is the only lodge inside the Chobe National Park, our early morning game drives set off at the same time as the park gate opens. This gives you the best chance of tracking predators in the early hours of the morning or being the first to find that kill.

In Chobe National Park it is not uncommon on a game drive to sight leopards, wild dogs and the very special puku, sable and roan antelope, or to be surrounded by herds of elephant and buffalo. Our 4x4 Land-cruisers game drive vehicles are large, tough and well maintained, redesigned to make your trip comfortable and your view astonishing. The canvas roof can be opened and closed for photographing from a higher viewpoint.

No childcare facilities or childminders are available
Children must be under the care of their parents or guardians at all times.
Children under the age of 16 (sixteen) years are to share rooms with an adult at all times.
Children below the age of 12 (twelve) years may not participate in certain of the activities included in the Services provided by the Company.
Families travelling with children under the age of 12 (twelve) must book private activities at an additional charge.
